Well, I may have already blogged about this once or twice...but Becca and I have recently started making headbands and hair clips to sell. :) It's all for the college fund, people! I found that felt and feather headbands and clips are becoming more and more popular, so I jumped right on this opportunity to try it myself! If you make crafty stuff like this, I would love to see it because I know that I'm not the only one in this world that makes them (and neither are you!) So, I shall stop the blah blah blah and get you right to today's link...

Check it out! Let me know which one you like, and if you're interested in buying any! :)

Sooo I make videos. Yes, yes I do. And you should check them out. :] That would be great and nice of you. Oh, and you should leave a comment on a video that you watch. :]

etsy. ellen page. everything else.

(this post was written Friday night)

This is going to be a random post. Ha.

Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of music. Just a few random mixes Becca made me. I really love listening to mixes. At this moment, I’m listening to 1234 by We Swim You Jump. I feel like I’ve had a lot of noise, drama going on recently, yet a lot of fun things going on. I’ve been making headbands and clips with Becca recently. We’re selling them for $4-$8. We have an Etsy, but if you order them through me personally, (email) then you will receive a discount. Ehh…ok, next topic…I get to hang out with my brother and Becca tomorrow. We’re going out to eat at Los Portales then we’re going flea marketing. Fun. :) After that, Becca and I are going to this Style Swap. I’ve never been to one, so I’m super duper excited.

I watched Whip It tonight. Good movie. Quirky and funny. I love Ellen Page. She is a doll. No joke. She’s an amazing actress, and she’s a beauty. I also adore her style in this movie. I wish I could pull off all those rocker outfits.

I bought a new shirt-dress. It’s from Wet Seal. It’s a black lace top with a floral print on the bottom. I can’t wait to wear it. :)

I Will Remember You
Sarah Malachan

I listened to this song about a thousand and one times the day my dog, Bob, died. These two verses always make me cry:

I'm so tired but I can't sleep
Standing on the edge of something much too deep
It's funny how we feel so much but we cannot say a word
We are screaming inside, but we can't be heard
But I will remember you
Will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories

day quince | fanfic

30-Day Blogging Challenge | Day Quince
a fanfic.

Michael, to the horror of Jim and Pam and other Office workers, discovers what Facebook is, and adds everyone as a friend. Stanely is the only one who refuses to add him. Michael ends up killing productivity, wasting all his time on Facebook, sending people vampire hugs, pokes, and stupid comments, etc.

Creed: Yeah, I have a Facebook. I just googled a picture of a teenage boy and named him Skeet. It makes me feel young again. And the young puss ain't bad neither.

Jim updates status on Facebook. "On the sixth day, God created animals, so I'd have something to eat."
Michael spends the whole day trying to think of a witty reply.
Dwight enters Michael's office, saying something…
Michael: No, sorry Dwight, I haven't done that yet.
Dwight: You were supposed to look at those receipts
Michael: I've been trying to think of a witty reply to Jim's status update.
Dwight: Yeah?
Michael: Okay, Jim wrote: "On the sixth day, God created animals so I'd have something to eat" (giggles): I wrote…"cheeseboigers!" (snorts)
Dwight (straight faced): That's lame.
Michael (mad): Okay, get out of here.
Dwight: That's what you came up with after three hours?
Michael: Like you could come up with anything better.
Dwight: How 'bout…on the seventh day, God made Jim my subordinate.
Michael: No, that's creepy.
Dwight: How 'bout…on the seventh-day, God created women, so I'd have something to sleep with.
Michael has shocked face, then grunts with laughter.
Michael: That's actually pretty good.
Michael starts typing it.
Dwight: Put in parentheses…Dwight helped me come up with this joke.
Michael: No, Dwight…that's stupid.
Dwight: But I came up with it.
Michael: But I heard it.
Dwight: I want credit for my joke.
Michael: No. It's my joke.

Dwight pushes Michael away from keyboard, shuts down his computer screen. Runs to his computer.
Michael: DWIGHT!
Everyone is looking at them.
Dwight races onto Facebook, replies to Jim's status update.
Jim receives a status update from Michael and Dwight at the same time. Both say the same thing.
Jim just looks at camera.
Dwight (stupid smile on his face): Hey, Jim…did you get my comment?
Jim: Yeah, I got the same comment from Michael.
Dwight: What? DANGIT! I came up with that joke, Jim.
Jim: If you say so.
Dwight: I did!
Jim: Sure, whatever.
Dwight: Jim…give me credit for my joke.
Jim: I think you stole it.
Dwight: No! I came up with that joke. Jim. JIM! Look at me! LOOK AT ME!
Jim looks at Dwight.
Dwight gives him intense stare as if trying to hypnotize him: (whisper) Give me credit, give me credit. Give me credit.
Jim: No.
Dwight hits desk with hand: DANGIT!
Dwight and Michael get in fight about who came up with joke.
Toby intervenes. The joke is inappropriate so now some feminist lady has to talk to the office workers.
Toby tells Michael that he is not allowed to say THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID under any circumstances.
Michael: Shut-up, Toby.
Toby: Okay, but…you still can't tell that joke.

Dwight makes Andy leave. He tells Michael that Andy has a big mouth and will say something stupid. Michael agrees. They send Andy out to get everyone donuts while Feminist Lady comes in.
Feminist Lady comes in. Michael bows down to women workers, gets them things, holds doors open for them, shows off to feminist lady. He grovels at her feet, pretending to worship her.
Interview with Michael: Did you know that men used to worship women? They were goddesses. Until Jesus came along. Then we made women wash our feet with their hair.
Feminist Lady gives speech about the importance of women in the workplace, how to feel empowered.
Interview with Angela: I think she's a lesbian. She seems to like women too much.
Feminist Lady often refers to how things make her feel "inside."
Michael tries not to say "That's What She Said!" His face is beet red and he keeps grunting.
FL: I want all the men to say something nice about women.
Jim raises hand.
Jim: I think all women are special and unique…like snow flakes, much different from the men in the office. It's hard. It's really really hard.
Michael, suffering. Straight, red face, grunting.
Jim: To make sure women feel as if they are equals. But we need to strive for that. I mean, it's really hard and long and penetrating. This desire to make women equals.
Michael, dying. Face beet red.
FL: Michael, are you okay?
Michael: Yeah, I think so. I just…need some fresh air.
Michael runs out of room, into bathroom.
Andy comes back with donuts.
Andy looks at Feminist Lady: Hey, who's the broad!
Everyone looks at him, horror on their faces.
Micahel: Andy…
Andy: Hey, I gotta joke for you. What did God create on the seventh-day?
FL: What?
Andy: Women. (heh) So we'd have something to sleep with.
Andy makes obscene gestures, gyrating his hips at Feminist Woman.
Looooong silence.
Jim looks at camera, raises eyebrows.
FL cries.
Andy: What?
Michael: Andy! That is completely inappropriate. You know we respect women in this work place.
FL: You've really hurt me inside. You've torn apart my insides.
Michael grunting, red faced: THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!
Michael pukes on her.
Interview with Jim: So yeah, Andy told a dirty joke to a feminist and then Michael puked on her. I'm really surprised this branch hasn't been closed down yet.
Dwight alters Andy's computer so every time he types Cornell the word "fart" appears. Andy's Facebook is riddled with farts. "I attended Fart."
Andy blames Jim. Dwight smiles to himself.

I don't remember where I got this one. :/ But, it's still pretty funny! Hope ya'll enjoyed it!

Into the Wild
Jon Krakauer
Amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing book. You will not regret reading this book. I suggest you read the book before you see the movie. The book tells it like it is, and the movie adds a little, and subtracts a little of the story. This book is too good for words. You can find it at almost any local book store; it's a really popular read since the movie release.

"Into the Wild is the true story of the mysterious life and death of Christopher Johnson McCandless, a talented young man from a good family who inexplicably turned his back on everything he seemed to have going for him. He graduated from Emory University in 1990, lost no time in giving away to charity the sizeable balance in his bank account, and then abruptly abandoned his past life and the personal identity all knew him by to basically disappear from the lives of family and friends. He anticipated that his parents would want to stop him, so he arranged to have his mail held for at least a month before it was returned to them, thereby giving himself ample time to leave for unknown parts unhindered by parental intervention..." -source

adventure day no. 2

Yo, yo. What's up? I had another adventure day with my friend Becca today. It was very adventure-filled. :)

First we headed to Los Portales after church at James River Assembly. GREAT food.
Then, we headed to JoAnn Fabrics and picked up a lot of stuff for our craft-date. We picked up patterned fabric, colorful felt, sewing needles, beads, and feathers.
Next stop was Target. Here, we picked up some headbands.
My favorite stop of the day comes next...Evangel University. Becca had to drop off some bins she borrowed from her friend. (Keep in mind that here in Missouri, it was raining ice all day...) As we exited Evangel, we realized that Becca had locked her keys in her car. She has never done this before. We had to call security to come "break-in" to her car so that we could get back in. It's funny now, although it wasn't funny at the time.
After this, we picked up some gas and headed to Becca's apartment to make some headbands.

The headbands are posted here. If you are interested in buying one, send me an email at garizzalee_bear@yahoo.com. Send me your name, address, and the name of the headband you want and I will mail it to you. Each headband is $8. These are all handmade by Becca and I. She made all the ones with feather, felt, and buttons. The ones that I made are the fabric ones on thicker headbands with a button in the middle.

Then we headed to Little Ceaser's, picked up a few pizzas, then headed back to my place where we watched 500 Days of Summer. :)

Great day!!

A Certain Slant of Light
Laura Whilcomb
I remember reading this book in high school. I can't tell you every little detail about it, but I remember it being EXTREMELY amazing. Here's a summary of what the book is about:

"In the class of the high school English teacher she has been haunting, Helen feels them: For the first time in 130 years, human eyes are looking at her. They belong to a boy, a boy who has not seemed remarkable until now.  And Helen--terrified, but intrigued--is drawn to him. The fact that he is in a body and she is not presents this unlikely couple with their first challenge. But as the lovers struggle to find a way to be together, they begin to discover the secrets of their former lives and of the young people they come to possess." -source

Give this book a chance. It was a really great and interesting read. Go for it!

Ok, so I'm just going to ramble on about a bunch of little things, if you don't mind...

  • I'm ordering my laptop this next week. SO exciting! XD
  • I rented three movies, which I'm super stoked to see: 500 Days of Summer, Ninja Assassin, and Precious.
  • Tomorrow is Becca and I's CRAFT DATE. Heck to the yes! I'm sure you will have an update about it on Monday. Be looking out for pictures, because we will be selling our crafts. :)
  • I filled out some more information for College of the Ozarks yesterday. Exciiiiiiting. :D
  • My Spring Break is this coming week! AH! SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP.
  • Something funny you should know is I'm actually writing this tonight, which would really be last night by now. (At this moment, it is Friday. I am scheduling this to post tomorrow, which will be Saturday.) So, this post is a little weird for me to write. Hahah. Ok... next point...
  • I downloaded some Lykke Li. She's amazing. Her voice is so...different. Check her out, if you haven't heard her stuff. Especially listen to Time Flies. YES.
Ok, so I feel like I've rambled on enough now...I love these little fancy tickler days!
Have a great Saturday, ya'll!

fill in the blank friday.

You know what that means? Time for another Fill In The Blank Friday, brought to you by Lauren over at the little things we do. You know what you should do? Join in.

1. Today I am wearing a purple vneck, jeans, and purple polka-dotted flats.
2. My favorite childhood food was black olives and my favorite food now is spaghetti. (ALTHOUGH I LOVE CHINESE FOOD & PANERA BREAD)
3. A day that I am too busy to keep up with my 30-Days of Blogging Challenge is a day that I am too busy.
4. The last movie I saw was Shutter Island and the next movie I want to see is Precious.
5. My favorite smell is Lowe's because I love the smell of wood & fresh paint. (NOT because it gets me high...because it doesn't.)
6. A weird little quirk I have is I have to sleep with my fan on. I think a lot of people have that quirk, too.
7. When I take personality quizzes they always say I'm ...well, I've never taken a personality quiz. So, I actually just took one so I would have an answer for this question. Ha. Here's what it said, "Others see you as fresh, lively, charming, amusing, practical, and always interesting; someone who's constantly in the center of attention, but sufficiently well-balanced not to let it go to their head. They also see you as kind, considerate, and understanding; someone who'll always cheer them up and help them out." :)

Have a great Friday, everyone!

adventure day no. 1

Yesterday was an adventure day for me. I LOVE ADVENTURE DAYS. Where you and a friend just drive somewhere, not really knowing where you're headed. Let me tell you a little about my day yesterday...

[adventure day]

First stop: Sonic

Second stop: Silver Dollar City
Yesterday was the opening day for Silver Dollar City for this season. So, it was really really busy. We only rode two rides. The lines were RIDICULOUS. Ech. So, instead of standing in lines, we decided to just walk around a little...

Then, we decided to leave. Lines were too long, and it was starting to get a little cold.

Guess what movie we saw?

It was creepy at times. A little too much confusion for me. It had too many twists. I had a headache when I walked out of there. It had some unecessary comments. (bad writing) The editing was a little weird; I don't know if some parts were edited weird for a reason unknown to me, or if the editing just sucked. Either way, I wasn't following some of the stories. It was one of those movies where I wanted to click pause and verbalize what just happened. But, overall...pretty interesting movie.

Fourth stop: $1 Store
So, in Branson there's a lot of little weird shops. There's this store called "$1 Store". Original, right? Well, I actually found some stuff for my craft date with Becca (blog), so that was cool!

^^Kristen's parking job^^

Fifth stop: Wal-Mart
Hmm...what to say...We saw a couple displaying their 'affection' in the craft section. Ew. Yeah, pretty much it!

Oh, and in between each stop, we had our "singing/dancing-in-car" fun. She has this certain CD we listen to everytime we're in her car. It has these songs on it:

Oh yeah, SHOOT! Quoting Tina Tracy never gets old...

This photo was taken yesterday, fifteen minutes after he had busted out of the town prison. Ha. There's this place called Silver Dollar City here in Missouri. It's a theme park located in Branson. If you ever get the chance to go, GO! It's a lot of fun. :) I have a friend who works there, so we go all the time for free. (It pays to have kickin-cool friends.) Yesterday was the first day it had opened all season, so it was quite busy! I went with Kristen. She's one of my best friends. :D To read more about our fun adventure, click here.

Ok, so I'm finding this extremely difficult. See, I'm more into videography than I am into photography. At this moment, I am STILL looking for a picture...hmmm...Ok, so I've been looking for about 15 minutes. This is ridiculous. No where in the rules does it say that it has to be a "professional-looking" picture that I took. So, I'm just picking a random picture that I took years ago...

Ok, here it is! (I know it looks like he's flipping off the camera, but I swear it's a peace sign...I just accidentally didn't get the other finger in.)
My friend Chase and I.
This boy...wow...I had a MAJOR crush on this boy in jr high. I'm talking MAJOR. I literally blew up a picture of him, printed it off, and slid it in the front of my binder. I was what you'd call...obsessed. Every dance that came around, you could expect me to ask him. And I did. I actually thought of clever little ways to ask him. I was pretty proud of myself. But, I wasn't so much proud when he would reject me EVERY SINGLE time. Oh well. Ha. In high school he actually apologized for rejecting me so much, and being so hard on me. We became pretty good friends in high school. He was really nice. We had homeroom together. I still remember trying to impress him, all the way up to high school. He's a nice kid. :) This makes me miss high school...goofing off in Bio, making fun of Mrs. Farmer...good times, good times...

Ok, so since I can blog about whatever I really want today, I am going to blog about one of my favorite shows. This show only comes on one time a year, so it's only on for a few months. When it is on, my eyes become glued to that TV every Wednesday and Thursday night.

So You Think You Can Dance

I've watched this show since season 2. I fall in love with the dancers every season. Last season was the first season that I loved every single dancer. Usually I have my favorites, but this past season was hard for me to pick my favorite. I'm going to give you a rundown of my favorite seasons of this show. :)

If you don't watch the show, hopefully this post made you want to tune it when it comes back on! I look forward to Season 7. Tell me what your favorite dance was out of all these that I shared! :)

"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and...
sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."

I love this quote. It's everything I believe. It's everything I agree with. There's really no explaining this quote, it speaks for itself. My favorite part is the last line; "...sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together." This is so true. Sometimes you think something is falling apart, but it's really because something else is coming along. Just wait and be patient. God will open another door, bring someone new and better, or show you something you were failing to seeing. Just trust in Him. He knows what he's doing. :)

fill in the blank friday.

It's Friday again! This means time for another Fill In The Blank Friday brought to you by Lauren over at the little things we do. Join in. :)

1. The best day ever was probably when I went to Colorado and went skiing at Loveland. Read more about that trip here. At this moment, that's where I want to be. (Besides, Retreat of course.)
2. My favorite meal of the day is breakfast. (Well, today it is) because I ate breakfast burritos from McDonald's. Mmmmm. :)
3. This weekend is going to be OFF. DA. CHIZZAIN. Retreat is this weekend. You will have a post on Monday about it, so be looking out. :)
4. Never in my life have I got a brain-freeze. Maybe it's because I don't eat ice-cream!
5. The only thing better than drawing the card "John Travolta" in Apples to Apples is drawing the card "sexy" right after. (this happened to me last night heehee)
6. I could really do with some more breakfast burritos from McDonald's.
7. The most recent thing I bought myself was breakfast burritos from McDonald's. (As you can tell, I really really really like breakfast burritos from McDonald's.)

Have a good grrrrrrrreat weekend!
I know I will!

the giving tree
by shel silverstein
I. Love. This. Book. I've always loved it. I'm pretty sure it was the first book I fell in love with as a little girl. Yes, most of my posts have stated that I "loved this as a little girl", but I don't care. I guess I stick onto things more easily than others do. If you've never read it, you should. It's so cute, and it's sure to make you cry. I think of the tree like some people (including me sometimes) view God. He gives and gives and gives, and gets nothing in return. Sometimes we don't figure that out until it's too late. God is a giving God. He gives us what we need, even if we aren't thankful. I hope this makes you recognize that God deserves to be thanked. Wouldn't you, if you gave that much? It's necessary to be thankful to God. Don't just pray when you are in need, don't just pray when you are in want, but pray just for the soul purpose of thanking Him for all that He does for you and for us, His children.
Take some time to head up to Barnes & Noble. This is a short book, so it won't take you much time. I guarantee, though, you will hold onto the message your entire life.

the office
Ok, so it should be no news to you that this is my favorite show. Everything about it I love. From the halarious cast, to the witty and clever jokes, to the ignorance of Michael Scott. I love everything. If you've never watched The Office before, then stop reading this, because we will probably never become friends. Hopefully this post will make you head over to hulu.com and watch some Office episodes.
The show is taped as a "mocumentary." It follows the lives of approximatly 14 individuals who work at a paper company called Dunder Mifflin. Most of their lives are captured within the office. I'll give you a rundown of some of the halarious characters of The Office.

Michael Scott
[Regional Manager of the Scranton Branch]
"...friend first, a boss second, and probably an entertainer third"
Often, he says things that are inappropriate, offensive, or unwittingly mean in the hopes of getting a laugh. He lacks maturity and self-awareness, has few friends, and is quite lonely, made worse because his efforts to make friends with people usually backfire. Michael will resort to any means possible to make himself the center of attention, and often takes credit for the successes of others. His subordinates, with the exception of Dwight Schrute, think of him as inept, and several of them remark that they get their work done when Michael is distracted.
Jim Halpert
[Senior Sales Representative]
"Because right now, this is a job. If I advance any higher, this would be my career. And if this were my career, I'd have to throw myself in front of a train."
He spends much of his time conspiring with fellow salesperson, and wife, Pam Halpert, to engineer pranks on his overbearing deskmate Dwight Schrute. Due to his dry, deadpan manner, Jim is something of a straight man for the show and acts as the comic foil for Michael and Dwight.
Pam Beesly-Halpert
[Receptionist/Sales Representative]
Michael: Pam, please clear my phone lines.
Pam: Certainly. Beep-boop bee-boop-boop beep beep beep boop. Okay, clear.
Pam spends much of the series as the friendly but often frustrated receptionist at the Scranton branch of the fictitious paper-distributor Dunder Mifflin. As the series progresses, she becomes a sales rep for the branch. She can seem shy or hesitant to speak her mind, but enjoys chatting with her best friend, and later husband, Jim Halpert. She often helps Jim play pranks on his deskmate Dwight Schrute. Her boss Michael Scott often asks her to do strange office tasks, and mocks her about being a receptionist.
Dwight Schrute
[Assistant to the Regional Manager/Sales Representative]
"I have been Michael’s number two guy for about 5 years. And we make a great team. We’re like one of those classic famous teams. He’s like Mozart and I’m like...Mozart's friend. No. I’m like Butch Cassidy and Michael is like...Mozart. You try and hurt Mozart? You’re gonna get a bullet in your head courtesy of Butch Cassidy."
Dwight is 6 feet 2 inches with little sense of humor, a hunger for authority, and a gullible nature that often makes him the target of pranks, primarily at the hands of Jim. Despite his naivety, he is knowledgeable on a wide range of topics including bears, beets, and Battlestar Galactica. Despite his personal dislike of Jim Halpert, the two have been shown to be a very effective sales team. Dwight's ability as a salesman, though, has rarely commanded the respect of his peers or led to higher levels of professional success.
Ryan Howard
"Yeah, I'm not a temp anymore. I got Jim's old job. Which means at my ten year high school reunion, it will not say "Ryan Howard is a temp". It will say "Ryan Howard is a junior sales associate and a midrange paper supply firm". [pause] That'll show 'em."
In early episodes, he is shown to be uncomfortable with his working relationship with his boss, Michael Scott. Michael often forces Ryan to carry out menial tasks for him while at the same time, becoming obsessed with Ryan's personal life as well as gaining Ryan's friendship, to the point of buying him an iPod for Christmas.
