thurs + fri + sat

This past weekend we had my two cousins, Abby and Jeremiah, over.
They came over on Thursday afternoon and stayed until Saturday morning.
They are a lot to handle.
Jeremiah is 5 years old and Abby is 8 years old.

Thursday we went to Busiek. We’ve been going to Busiek a lot lately because our dog, Bo, just learned how to swim! We took the kids and the dog to Busiek so that they could see him swim. :) They were having so much fun that they didn’t want to leave! They were literally crying as we forced them out of the creek. Then we came home and decided not to go inside since we were all still wet from the water. The kids got really dirty, so we gave them a “bath” using our water hose, a bar of soap, and some shampoo and conditioner. It was fun! After they got all dried off, they came back inside and we had spaghetti for dinner. Then we roasted some marshmellows out by our bonfire.

Friday was a bit hectic. We had some errands we had to run in the morning. Around noon we went to the park and played on the swings and monkey bars.
That night I went out with some friends. I joined Kristen, Taylor, and Rhen for dinner at TGI Fridays, bowling at Lighthouse Lanes, and ice-cream at Andy’s Frozen Custard (although I ordered a Raspberry Tea because I don’t like ice-cream). It was a fun night! We rode around town and listened to loud music. Then we came home and watched The Dark Knight with the kids.

Saturday was pretty packed as well for our family. I went to the End of the Year Party for Bible Quiz. My friend’s family’s van caught on fire! It was crazy! It started smoking, then it turned into black smoke, and then it went up in flames! We called 911, and the fire department came and put out the fire.
It was sad to know that that was the last time I could be called my girls’ “coach”. Very, very sad. Then we headed over to Realife, where we helped with the check-in for Connect 6. Many 5th graders were transitioning into 6th grade, so my youth group put on an event for them.

I am off this whole week! I start work back up on Monday. So, there will be way more blog posts for all of you when I get back to work! :)
Hope you’ve had a great Monday!

Psst: I enjoyed reading all of your comments about my movie post I did a few posts back! I love reading your comments. :)

los portales + movies

Yesterday, Becca and I went to Los Portales for a sister dinner date. We always talk about the same stuff when we're together. It's funny. Haha. Becca and Caleb will be going back to Pittsburgh this weekend to visit with Becca's family, so she wanted to do a date with me before she leaves. I hadn't been to Los Portales for a few weeks, so it was good to be back home! HAHA. :)

On Sunday, my family and I rented four movies...

GLORY ROAD: I had seen this movie before. I love it! It's so inspiring. It's a great movie about how one team changes the game of basketball. I love how it's a true story. That fact just makes it ten times more amazing!
AVATAR: Wow. That's all I can say! Very interesting movie. I think I may watch it again today. I fell asleep for 40 minutes at the beginning, so I need to rewatch it again. I didn't think I would like it because it looks like a video game, but I really enjoyed it. I don't know yet if I love it; I'll have to watch it again. James Cameron did a BRILLIANT job with this movie. The special effects are off the chart.
LEAP YEAR: Cute movie! It was a really soft movie; good for young girls. It's not one of my favorites, but it was a good movie. I love Amy Adams, so it was great to see her play this roll.
WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE: I started this movie, and wasn't really excited about it. I stopped it about 40 minutes in, probably. It was really slow, and I was a little confused. I've heard great things about it, and no-so-great things. Either you love this movie, or you hate it. I wasn't into the movie, so I just turned it off. Maybe I will try to watch it again later.

Have you seen any of these movies?
Which ones did you not like or like?

Have a great Wednesday, everyone!
I hope it goes well!
You're halfway done with the week!!

I am so very sorry. I have been neglecting my blog this past week. I've just had so many things going on that I've failed to update all of you!

While I've been on my "blog-vacation" some exciting things have been happening...
I had another adventure day with Kristen. We went to Panera Bread for lunch, Gordmans, Target, saw the movie Nightmare on Elm Street and Whip It. Good day. :)
Caleb & Becca's wedding reception. We had some awesome food, fun Minute to Win It games, and they recieved a lot of nice things for their apartment.
Caleb's birthday. It was Caleb's birthday yesterday, so we went to lunch at China Garden.
Kia's visit. Kia came over and we watched some funny videos, caught up on all of our drama, and watched Leap Year.

Also, I've had a lot of fun questions on my Formspring this past week! So, next I will do a post on all of my questions and answers.
I am so very sorry! I've been off this past week, and this week, so I have been really lazy recently! SORRY!! :)

Have a great Monday, everyone!

What has been your favorite episode (so far) of the office?
This season? Season 6? Well, my family usually doesn't watch the season that's currently on. We wait until it comes out on DVD, and we buy it. Then we will sit down and watch all of the episodes at once. :) But, what I have seen of so far, I loved the Christmas episode where Phyllis dresses up as Santa. That was a good one. :)

Umm...this is a given. John Travolta. Without a doubt. Also, if John wasn't available,I would be more than willing to take Columbus Short.

I didn't, and still don't, know any of their songs. I hate going to concerts when you don't know any of their music.

spokane graduation.

Yesterday was Kristen's graduation. Kristen is one of my best friends. I was really excited to go to her graduation because I got to see some old friends again.

I was homeschooled my junior year of high school. I was able to bust out two years in one, so I graduated a year early. If I wasn't homeschooled, I would've graduated yesterday with my friends from public school. It was weird to see my friends graduating, knowing that I would've been sitting with them if things didn't happen the way they did. I'm glad, though, that I was homeschooled.

Anyway...back to what I was saying...
It was great to see some of my old friends again. Like these people...

Me & Kristen
my goof-off-in-bio, locker-buddy, go-to-for-anything, best friend

Me & Dillon
my valentines dance date; first best guy friend; best dancer i know; homeroom buddy

Me & Kasha
my first best friend at spokane; talent show partner; "we go way back" friend; cheerleading buddy

Me & Kelsi
P.E. buddy; never-got-to-really-hang-out friend; tuesday night at walmart friend; musical soulmate

These people were my closest friends throughout junior high and high school. Dillon was really close with me through junior high and high school. Kelsi, Kristen, and Kasha were really close with me during high school. These people are amazing, and I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to see them again yesterday. Kasha graduated Valedictorian! That was really exciting.

My Facebook news feed seems to be clogged with friends graduating! It's crazy!

fill in the blank friday.

Play along here.

1. The very best thing about summer is being able to go to the lake!
2. My first crush ever was a boy named Dillon. He was a blondie. I was about 8 or 9 years old.
3. This may sound really silly but I have atleast 25 tie-dyed shirts in my closet.
4. I squeeze my toothpaste from the very tip of the tube.
5. My absolute favorite "comfort food" is mashed potatoes and green bean casserole. Mmmm... :)
6. A random fact about me is that I love watching the Food Network. I like to watch Barefoot Contessa, just so I can make fun of her and her wine obsession.
7. The one piece of technology that truly makes my life better and I couldn't live without is my phone. Duh. haha.

One to the OH OH!

formspring. yes, i gave in.

Graduation & Glee

Here’s the post I promised yesterday for all of you. Did you enjoy the playlist? I hope you found one or a few songs you haven’t heard of before, and now you like. I need to figure out how to set up a downloadable playlist, so that you guys can download these playlists. If you know how to do that, let me know please!
So, my dad graduated last Friday morning from Evangel University. He graduated Magma Cum Laude! (which for all of you who don’t know what that is, that means he graduated with a 3.750-3.899 GPA)

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Services.

We surprised Dad by having our aunt and uncle come from Alabama for his graduation.

So did anyone else catch GLEE the other night? OMGSH. It just keeps getting better and better.

I am being very impatient about Finn and Rachel getting together. Still? They’re still not together?! Geez. It’s taking them forever to realize they need to be together.

Kurt cracks me up. A couple episodes ago he said the FUNNIEST quote:
“Mercedes, you have to lose ten pounds in a week. That’s like me losing one of my butt cheeks. Look what I’m eating: peeled celery, and for breakfast I had Splenda.”
HAHAHA. Oh, Kurt. I love you.

a little playlist for all of you...

So, I thought I would do another little music post. They're my favorite. :) I don't work today or tomorrow, so I'll try to do a post within the next few days of what's been happening in my life. I know it gets boring reading the same stuff all the time, so I'll try my best. :) I have a few things I need to blog about...my dad's graduation, GLEE, and a book I've been reading. So, be looking out for my next post filled with personal information. Ok, now to the playlist...

Have a great Wednesday. :)
